Responsible Gambling Awareness Week
(RGAW) has been an annual initiative of the Nova Scotia Gaming Corporation (NSGC) since 2002. As the crown corporation responsible for managing the gaming industry in Nova Scotia, Canada, NSGC creates and manages a safe and regulated industry that balances economic sustainability with social responsibility. A key factor to achieving this balance is NSGC's commitment to providing Nova Scotians with the information they need to make informed decisions, if they choose to gamble.
RGAW is NSGC's largest initiative which works to foster responsible gambling behaviour across the province.
During RGAW 2009, 11 events took place in six communities (Halifax Regional Municipality, Cape Breton Regional Municipality, Antigonish, Amherst, New Minas, and Yarmouth) and approximately 600 Nova Scotians were directly reached. The hallmark event of the Week is NSGC's two-day Responsible Gambling Conference, which features world-renowned guest speakers and focuses entirely on responsible gambling and social responsibility within the gaming industry.
Information on RGAW 2010 will be posted as it becomes available.
