Responsible Gambling Awareness Week (RGAW) has been an annual initiative of the Nova Scotia Gaming Corporation (NSGC) since 2002. As the Crown corporation responsible for managing the gaming industry in Nova Scotia, Canada, NSGC creates and manages a safe and regulated industry that balances economic sustainability with social responsibility. A key factor to achieving this balance is NSGC’s commitment to providing Nova Scotians with the information they need to make informed decisions, if they choose to gamble.

RGAW is NSGC’s largest initiative which works to foster responsible gambling behaviour across the province.

During RGAW 2011 (October 2nd to 8th), events took place in six communities across Nova Scotia (Halifax Regional Municipality, Cape Breton Regional Municipality, Amherst, Antigonish, New Minas, and Yarmouth).

The hallmark of the Week was NSGC’s two-day Responsible Gambling Conference (October 3rd and 4th), which featured world-renowned guest speakers and focused on responsible gambling and social responsibility within the gaming industry. Plans are already underway for the 2012 conference which is scheduled for October 1st and 2nd at the World Trade and Convention Centre. Updates will be posted as they become available.
