Nova Scotia's third annual Responsible Gambling Conference was held October 1-2, 2007, at the Delta Halifax Hotel

This year, the Nova Scotia Gaming Corporation took the gaming industry's potential for shared learning, shared problem-solving and shared innovation to the next level.

The goals of the Conference were simple: inspire, stimulate, educate. Hot topics, innovative presentation formats and rich discussion were just a few of the things present.

The two-day Conference:

  • Included a welcome reception sponsored by Canadian Gaming Association.
  • Provided attendees with new and applicable information and with valuable insight into the importance of an industry-wide commitment to social responsibility and responsible gambling.
  • Included sessions that fostered interaction and critical thinking and worked toward solving common challenges.
  • Gave attendees the opportunity to learn from and interact with one another.
  • Had numerous presentations from guest speakers who facilitated this process and presented their topics in a non-conventional and discussion-based format.

All attendees had the choice of attending one of two concurrent sessions. One focused on responsible gambling and social responsibility within the industry which was particularly relevant to industry operators, regulators, managers and employees, while the other addressed more general interests, including research, responsible gambling education and youth prevention.
